Keira Knightley seems to have moved on from her December breakup with longtime boyfriend Rupert Friend. According to Us Weekly, the 26-year-old actress was recently photographed sharing a public kiss in an East London park with James Righton, 27, the keyboard player for British indie rock group the Klaxons. Rumors that the two were dating first swirled two weeks ago, but this is the first confirmed sighting.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star broke up with Friend in December and has been keeping a low profile ever since, busy working on an upcoming play and her other film projects. Mutual friend Alexa Chung introduced Knightley and Righton in March, and the two have reportedly been dating for about five weeks.
Knightley once told Marie Claire: "It's hard to have a relationship when I'm working so much, though. But then you have to think, What is actually important in life? Is career your only thing? If it is, then it's easy, but if it isn't, that's sad, because there's going to come a day when you're left lonely. It's a difficult compromise. I think you've got to strive for balance. It's the striving that counts. If you're someone like me, who has always been very driven, to suddenly step back and decide, 'Well, love is the only thing,' then you need to build up your relationships."
Knightley's father spoke to The Daily Mail in the wake of his daughter's breakup with Friend and said, "It's very unfortunate, but Keira is coping well and is focusing on a new West End play that she is opening. She is getting on with things. I know that she and Rupert will remain great friends."
Hopefully this busy, driven actress finds the balance she's looking for.
