Pet Tags
Man, I'm so irritated.
I just received four pets tags that I ordered for Bev and Mary Margaret (two for Brooklyn and two for LA) and they're all messed up. Not only did they leave off the "Margaret" on Mary Margaret's tags, but the text isn't centered correctly and runs off the right side on all four of them. (The last letter of the address is cut in half.) The tags themselves are also ugly. The edges aren't smoothed out... they look like someone just cut them from a piece of sheet metal and called it a day.
So anyway, I got them this morning on my way to Starbucks (yesterday's mail), so while I was there, I started drafting a strongly-worded letter in my head, like what I was going to say to these people when I sent them back.
And then I saw it.
In tiny print on the bottom of the invoice it said, "Our handicapped employees appreciate your order."
So now I can't send them back. If I did I'd be a total asshole.
I'm just going to order new ones from someplace else. Any recommendations?

Kings Of Leon's Caleb Followill Expecting First Child
'We can't wait to meet the new addition to our family,' Followill and wife Lily Aldridge say in statement to MTV News.

Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill and his wife, model Lily Aldridge, are expecting their first child, a spokesperson for the band confirmed to MTV News on Thursday (December 29).
"We are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our first child together," the couple said in a statement. "We can't wait to meet the new addition to our family."
The official confirmation comes one day after E! Online cited a source that said Aldridge was "approximately three months along" in her pregnancy. The two were married in May, at a ceremony held at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California after dating for more than two years.
"It was the perfect day," Followill said of the event.
The announcement of the couple's first child puts a happy cap on what was, by all accounts, a rather interesting year for the Kings, who came into 2011 riding their Come Around Sundown album, feuded with "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy (who would subsequently apologize for calling the band "self-centered a--holes") and released a well-received documentary, "Talihina Sky."
In the summer, after a much-publicized incident at a Dallas concert in which Followill claimed to suffer "heat exhaustion," the band scrapped the remainder of their U.S. tour in support of Sundown, before returning to the road in September for a run of Canadian shows. They wrapped the year with a tour of Australia and a pair of Grammy nominations: A Best Rock Album nod for Sundown and a Best Long Form Music Video nom for "Talihina Sky."

Harry Potter Dominates 2011 Box Office
'Deathly Hallows, Part 2' among several sequels to make it in the top 10.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

Harry Potter said goodbye to Hogwarts and movie theaters in 2011, but not without earning boatloads of cash along the way.
The boy who lived dominated the box office this past year with more than $1.3 billion worldwide, making him the undoubted winner in a less-than-stellar year financially for movies, but "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" wasn't the only sequel to succeed. Eight of the top 10 earners at the theaters belonged to sequels, prequels or remakes.
This trend is what Jeff Bock, box-office analyst for Exhibitor Relations, sees as the big box office story of 2011, for good and bad. "You can't deny sequels' potency at the box office, with seven of the top 10 grossing films of 2011 being continuing sagas — eight if you count 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes,'" Bock said.
But not every movie with a number slapped onto the back of it fared as well as "Harry Potter." Bock pointed out that holiday sequels like "Happy Feet Two," "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" and "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked," all underperformed compared to their predecessors.
"You could also argue that sequels are part of the problem, too," Bock said. "The domestic box office looks like it's going to come up short in terms of overall grosses and drop 3 percent versus last year, with attendance down nearly 5 percent — which will hit its lowest point in 15 years. That's a no-win for the entire industry."
As for surprise successes and failures, two films stuck out to Bock, the comedy hit "Bridesmaids" and DC's disappointer "Green Lantern."
"Bridesmaids" made $288 million worldwide on a budget of just $32 million, Bock said. "It was finally a coming out party for women of comedy," Bock said of what he called the "female 'Hangover.' " "Universal has already made plans for a sequel, and the brides-to-be are now flirting with A-list status."
Ryan Reynolds' most recent foray into the superhero realm did just the opposite. "This was supposed to be the next Batman for the studio, and it nearly turned into 'Howard the Duck,' " Bock said. "Well, it wasn't that bad, but when you spend $200 million on a film, you obviously expect to make more than $219 million worldwide. And that's not including all the marketing and print advertising that went into the big-budget blockbuster."
For 2012, Bock expects even more sequel domination, especially with the lineup of franchise films coming out next year. He predicts "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" will top with box office in the #1 and #2 slots, respectively, with "The Hobbit," "The Avengers" and "Men in Black 3" rounding out the top five.

'Bel Ami' Trailer: Five Key Scenes
Robert Pattinson breaks away from Edward Cullen in the story of one man's rise to the top of Parisian society.

Ladies, say goodbye to Edward Cullen and hello to George Duroy.
The newest "Bel Ami" trailer has hit the Web, showcasing a Robert Pattinson who is very different from the one fans have come to know and love in "The Twilight Saga."
The sex-filled drama follows penniless soldier Duroy on his rise to the top of the Parisian social ladder thanks to his manipulation and seduction of the wives of the French elite. Needless to say, fans who want a lot of nudity and friskiness to go along with their daily dose of Pattinson should not be disappointed by this latest preview, which follows an earlier "Bel Ami" trailer released in July.
While the film doesn't have a release date yet in the U.S., viewers in the U.K. will be able to see it starting March 2. For now, here are five key scenes from the brand-new trailer!
Meet the Ladies
There's a reason directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod enlisted Pattinson: He's one of the biggest sex symbols around, and Duroy is a playboy in every sense of the word. As important a character as he is, the ladies Duroy seduces are also integral to the story. About a fourth of the way through the trailer, Pattinson is seen sitting across from the three women who will act as his love interests: Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas. These ladies likely have no idea what emotional roller coaster is in store for them.
Sex, Sex and More Sex
Pattinson has been pretty upfront about the fact that "Bel Ami" includes plenty of sex and — in his words — "a lot of my crack in it." This trailer teases those aspects of the movie, as Pattinson can be spotted frequently getting frisky with Thurman, Ricci and Thomas. But it's his slow seduction methods that have really captured our interest. Whether he's drawing a finger down Ricci's neck or flirting with Thomas in a church, Pattinson seems to have come a long way from the brooding Edward Cullen.
"I've Been Such a Fool"
You've got to love a man who can admit when he's wrong. The crux of the movie pivots on Duroy's bad behavior, so it should come as no surprise that he eventually gets in trouble for it — at least that's what it looks like when he admits to Ricci's character, "I've been such a fool." Whether that means he will learn from his actions is yet to be seen, but we doubt it based on all of the other dramatic occurrences in the trailer.
"Get Out of My House!"
Between "Bel Ami" and Pattinson's other project, "Cosmopolis," the man best known as a sparkly vampire is getting the chance to show he can be more than just a heartthrob. And he gives us a preview in the trailer when he yells, "Get out of my house!" breaking down his character's usually composed façade.
A Man's Reflection
The trailer is scattered with shots of Duroy staring at his own reflection, but two pivotal instances bookend the video. In the first, Duroy gazes at his face in a small, broken mirror, looking unsatisfied with what he sees. But toward the end of the trailer, there is a (shirtless!) full-body shot of Duroy staring at himself yet again. In the voice-over, he emphatically states, "There is no next life, and I am going to live." It's clear Duroy has undergone significant changes since the beginning of the film, but we have a gut feeling those changes aren't going to end well for him.

LMFAO, Mindless Behavior, More Share Holiday Gifts Not To Buy

Don't panic, but you only have a few days left to find the perfect holiday gift. Yes, it can be daunting, and yes, it can drive you crazy, but we at MTV News are here to help. But instead of telling you what to buy this season, we asked some of your favorite stars at this year's annual Z100 Jingle Ball concert in New York to tell us what not to put on your holiday gift list.
"The worst gift you could give somebody is a gift that you got from them," Princeton from Mindless Behavior told MTV News.
Regifting is also a big no-no for Hot Chelle Rae's Nash Overstreet, who said, "[The worst gift] is a gift that you got that you didn't want, so you gave it to them."
Well, if Overstreet is looking to regift anything for his fellow bandmembers, it seems Ian Keaggy might have given him a not-so-subtle hint. "If you're a girl and you're looking for just a random guy gift," Keaggy said, "a safe bet perhaps [is] socks and boxers."
Big Time Rush's James Maslow agrees. "Cool, funky socks, or if it's really cold out and they're warm socks, that could be a good gift."
If you are planning on baking instead of buying for someone this holiday season, Gym Class Heroes' Travie McCoy says stay away from the fruitcake. "Fruitcake, it's the most disgusting, repulsive food ever," McCoy said. "Who decided to put gummy bears in bread?"
But what is the absolute worst thing you can give someone? Nothing at all. "The worst is when you forget to give a gift and they got you a gift," LMFAO's Redfoo said. "So no gift is the worst gift."
What is the one gift you should never give someone? Let us know in the comments.

Scott Weiland's 'Winter Wonderland' Frame By Frame
Foster the People and others help break down the Stone Temple Pilots frontman's Christmas video.

With Christmas just around the corner, it's safe to assume you're enveloped in holiday tunes — whether inescapably at the mall or blaring from your laptop by choice. Beyond the old standards, there's Michael Bublé's chart-topping Christmas album and even Justin Bieber's first Christmas contribution, Under the Mistletoe, but you might not be aware that Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland released his own holiday disc this year.
That's right, and while Weiland's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year dropped back in October, even some of his contemporaries were unaware of his Xmas effort. That gave us the perfect opportunity to share the album's first music video with the bands on the bill at KROQ's annual Almost Acoustic Christmas earlier this month. In true holiday spirit, the artists graciously took us through the kitschy retro-themed clip for "Winter Wonderland," frame by frame.
Initially, everyone was surprised by the video, in part due to Scott's never-before-heard classic croon, but also by his "Mad Men"-inspired, clean-cut new look.
"I like his scarf a lot," Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons said.
"He's very handsome," fellow bandmember Winston Marshall added.
While the reactions ran the gamut from "good" to "insane," there were other clues in the video, some believed, that this whole thing might be more of a wink and a nod than a serious musical venture.
"He kinda has a very weird eyebrow thing that I only noticed now for the first time," Grouplove's Ryan Rabin said.
"I can't tell if it's tongue-in-cheek or not," Mark Foster of Foster the People wondered. "You think it's tongue-in-cheek or you think he just lost his mind? 'Cause he definitely had a bout with [in]sanity for a while."
Of course, the sight of a '90s rock icon cozying up to the Yule log left some baffled, but Death Cab for Cutie had their own take on Weiland's "Wonderland."
"I mean, is he more Bing Crosby or is he more Danny Kaye?" DCFC's Chris Walla asked.
"He's got a lotta Bing, he's got a lot of ... I mean there's some Sinatra there too," DCFC bassist Nick Harmer said.
They both agreed that Weiland was fully committed to the act.
"And it's good! It's classic," Walla said.
"Thank you! I mean — yeah! Thanks for making that Scott, seriously," Harmer concluded.
What do you think of Weiland's version of "Winter Wonderland"? Tell us in the comments.

'The Hobbit' Trailer: Five Key Scenes
Much-anticipated return to Middle-earth appeals to loyal 'Lord of the Rings' fans.
By Kevin P. Sullivan
Martin Freeman in "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"
Just days after the 10th anniversary of the release of "The Fellowship of the Ring," we have our first look at director Peter Jackson's return to Middle-earth. The first trailer for "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" packs in a ton of action and gives fans a peek at what they can expect when the first of the two films opens next December.
We took some time off from watching the trailer on repeat to give you the rundown on the five key things you should pay attention to in the trailer.
The Hobbit(s)
It wouldn't be "The Hobbit" without a strong member of the Shire folk to rally behind. Martin Freeman is Bilbo Baggins, and he jumps right into Jackson's Middle-earth and feels right at home. He also fits in with the two returning hobbits, Elijah Wood and Ian Holm. Both make welcome returns in the trailer and draw in fans of the original films almost effortlessly.
The Dwarves
Almost as important as Bilbo in "The Hobbit," all 13 dwarves play key roles in the story. Fans who feared that the dwarves would look too cartoonish should find some peace of mind with the trailer. They completely worked (especially Richard Armitage as Thorin), with a balance between the child-oriented aspects of the book and the grittier look of the "Lord of the Rings" movies.
The Song
Nothing shows off that balance better than the dwarves' song. J.R.R. Tolkien featured many songs in the novel, and Jackson and co. incorporated this one in a natural way. It's a cool and ominous part of the trailer that sets the tone and shows the film's close adherence to the novel. However, the films do diverge from the novel to cover new material in a few instances.
The White Council
Because the book does not offer enough action for two complete movies, the films have been padded out with tales from the appendixes and other Tolkien books. The main addition is the story of the White Council. For those unfamiliar with the books, during the journey to Lonely Mountain, Gandalf leaves Bilbo and the dwarves to fight a mysterious enemy alongside Galadriel and Elrond. Jackson confirmed the story line's presence in the movie, but Cate Blanchett's appearance in the trailer is our only hint of what's to come.
Gollum
The trailer's big reveal comes at the end as the camera cranes down to the One Ring in the foreground. Next thing we know, Bilbo is chatting up Gollum in the dark, and Andy Serkis crawls down to make his welcome return to the character. The ring and Gollum are the two biggest connections between "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings," so their presence here is a near guarantee to rope in any fans of the first films.

'Breaking Dawn - Part 1' Is Our #2 Newsmaker Of 2011
Penultimate 'Twilight' film was about more than just Bella and Edward's first time.
By Amy Wilkinson
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in "Breaking Dawn"

One doesn't need Alice Cullen's powers of prognostication to foretell fang-tastic returns for "The Twilight Saga."
Four years in, and the success of the franchise is a foregone conclusion. To wit, the penultimate film in the series, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," has grossed more than $600 million worldwide since its November release and even set a new record by becoming the first installment to top the box office three weekends in a row. And it also landed at #2 on MTV News' Top Newsmakers of 2011 list, falling short only to Lady Gaga.
It'd be tempting to chalk up this particular installment's massive appeal to one little (though very loaded) word: sex. As any avowed Twilighter will tell you, "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" marks the first time Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) do it, a titillating plot point that Summit Entertainment's marketing department took full advantage of. In fact, the very first promotional image for the flick, released in late 2010, was a close-cropped photo of Bella clutching a fistful of rogue feathers that had escaped a pillow during the couple's first romp. Then there was that much-talked-about publicity still released in January, showing a moodily lit Bella and Edward in flagrante. And, of course, the topic was a hot talking point during the film's many promotional stops.
"It's not just human sex. It's ... obviously blown a little bit out of proportion, slightly. It's kind of like the most important scene in the movie. It's so weird," Stewart told MTV News during "MTV First: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."
For co-star Pattinson, the discussion reached near-absurd levels. "It is kind of disgusting," he said with a laugh during the "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" red carpet. "It's weird. I feel like I'm going a little bit crazy."
"Crazy" certainly describes the level of fan frenzy surrounding this pivotal scene, but as riveting as flying feathers and breaking headboards can be, "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" was about more than just sex. It marked the realization of Bella's — and the audience's — hopes and dreams for the mortal and the immortal who loved her. The couple walked down the aisle, as friends and family (and author Stephenie Meyer) watched, with tears in their eyes and love in their hearts. The two consummated their relationship, in the process conceiving a baby they didn't think possible. (Even vampires can achieve the American dream, it seems.) And, in the film's closing moments, near death, Bella becomes what she had always wanted to be: a vampire who could spend eternity with her soul mate.
Though Twilighters have one final film to look forward to in 2012, it's hard not to feel some sense of finality as Forks' fictional residents achieve these rites of passage. The monumentality certainly wasn't lost on the actors. "It was very, very emotional for me," Stewart said of shooting the wedding scene.
Saying goodbye is hard to do, but thankfully, we have 11 months to work up the courage.

Nicki Minaj Hints At Super Bowl Appearance On New Single
Young Money MC's latest Roman Reloaded track, 'Stupid H--,' teases a halftime performance.

At the beginning of December, Nicki Minaj teased her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, with the zany track "Roman in Moscow." And early Tuesday morning (December 20), her latest single "Stupid H--" hit the Internet, showcasing her unrestrained, oddball flows and hinting that Minaj might be performing at the 2012 Super Bowl.
The Young Money rapper spits one particular line that teases she may take the stage at halftime: "Put ya cape on, you a super h--/ 2012, I'm at the Super Bowl." There has been speculation that Nicki and M.I.A. may perform with Madonna at Super Bowl XLVI, since both rappers are featured on her upcoming album.
Super Bowl news aside, Nicki's second single of the month taps into her multiple personalities and employs her off-the-wall flow. She spits verses in different pitches, slowing down and speeding up her bars and stretching out some syllables like she did on the remix of Big Sean's single "Dance (A$$)."
The track ends with the declaration "I am the Female Weezy," and after one listen, it's easy to understand why. The Young Money rapper handles the song's chorus herself, repeating the title of the track in her quirky voice. For her final verse, she spits a few lines directed at an unnamed enemy (speculation has already pointed to rival Lil' Kim) who she says should have befriended her instead.
Nicki's sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, is scheduled for release on Valentine's Day 2012.

For last few weeks, guilds, associations and critics' groups have been doling out year-end honors to the likes of "The Artist" and "The Descendants." Boring!
MTV Movies, by contrast, has been running a series of fan-voted polls to get to the bottom of what 2011 was really all about. Which film delivered 2011's finest sex scene? Which set was most successfully stalked by the paparazzi? Between flashing his abs and breaking up street fights, what was truly Ryan Gosling's best moment of the year? These were among the questions put to fans in poll form, and the response was staggering. Millions of votes were cast. Comment sections lit up with equal parts enthusiasm and vitriol.
Now, without further ado, it's time to reveal the winners.

Of all our Best of 2011 polls, the race for Best Ensemble was the most contentious. Though five films were in the running ("Bridesmaids," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," "Breaking Dawn," "Horrible Bosses" and "The Help"), it was a photo finish between the wizards of Hogwarts and the supernaturals of Forks. After nearly 2 million votes cast, Bella, Edward and co. were the vampire victors by a narrow .13 percent margin. — Amy Wilkinson
Best Sex Scene: "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1"
The sauciest and most titillating of our Best Of polls pitted beloved Bella and Edward against some "Bridesmaids," Justin Timberlake and "Immortals," not to mention a whole lot of Michael Fassbender. Let's be honest, there's no loser when it comes to Best Sex Scene, but the headboard-breaking, pillow-shredding one in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1" was almost a guaranteed winner from the start. Fans told us they were excited about the big moment way back in July, and if their enthusiasm wasn't apparent then, the boatloads of votes they cast in this poll were loud and clear. — Kara Warner
Best Movie Robot: Optimus Prime, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon"
It doesn't take genius artificial intelligence to determine which movie robot was your favorite from 2011. Despite strong showings from the likes of '80s Robot from "The Muppets" and "Real Steel" boxing champ Atom, it was fearless Autobot leader Optimus Prime that stole the show with over 60 percent of the vote. Breaking out early with a healthy lead, no one stood a chance against the "Transformers" icon. Our only real regret with this category — and really, how could anyone regret a Best Movie Robots category? — is not sticking in Megatron and seeing what kind of damage the Decepticon warlord could have done here. Our money would still be on Prime, naturally. — Josh Wigler
Best Dressed: Kristen Stewart, "Breaking Dawn - Part 1"
It's hard to deny that a film was the "Best Dressed" of the year when you consider that one of its most anticipated moments wasn't a moment at all, but a wedding dress. And when the secret was finally out, it was everywhere. Designers made pricey replicas, a more affordable version and even prom dresses inspired by the long-sleeved gown Stewart wore. Not even Ryan Gosling and his suits could take away Bella's special day. — Kevin Sullivan
Best Superhero: Magneto, "X-Men: First Class"
Looks like you folks enjoy your heroes a bit on the morally gray side, as Erik "Magneto" Lehnsherr of "X-Men: First Class" fame cleaned up this category with a strong 42.9 percent lead. In the end, as awesome as runners-up Thor and Captain America are (it wasn't even close for Green Lantern or Green Hornet), there's just no denying the Oscar-caliber work Michael Fassbender put into Magneto, a performance that matches — and even exceeds, in some views — Ian McKellan's fabulous interpretation from the previous "X-Men" films. Sounds like a ringing endorsement for a "Magneto: Nazi Hunter" prequel to "First Class" to us! — J.W.
Best Couple: Bella and Edward, "Breaking Dawn - Part 1"
Much like our Best Ensemble poll, Best Couple boiled down to a face-off between "Harry Potter" and "Breaking Dawn." Would Ron and Hermione's romance cast a spell over voters? Or would Bella and Edward's epic vampire sex be unbeatable? In the end, it was indeed the hot honeymooners who prevailed, feathers flying. — A.W.
Best Set Stalking: "The Dark Knight Rises"
"The Dark Knight Rises" kept no secrets about what was happening down on Wall Street this past fall. It was all-out war between Batman and Bane, and it was all too big to hide. That wasn't the only set-stalking goodness, though. Not only did we get to see the two-man army duking it out, but we got an early glimpse of Catwoman that didn't exactly have people purring and a brand-new ride for the Caped Crusader. Now all we have to do is figure out what the hell that bomb-like thing was. — K.S.
Best Ryan Gosling Moment: Ab flash, "Crazy, Stupid, Love"
Those who've been following the Gos will likely agree that 2011 has been a banner year for the Golden Globe-nominated Hollywood heartthrob. The Best Ryan Gosling moment nominees included inspiring a protest against People magazine's choice of Sexiest Man Alive, his hilarious acknowledgement/ reenactment of popular Internet meme F--- Yeah! Ryan Gosling, flashing some killer abs in "Crazy, Stupid, Love," the gruesome and chilling head stompage in "Drive," and that time he broke up a street fight in NYC (about which he later admitted he was embarrassed). The Gosling-loving masses have spoken and they like their man best ... shirtless. — K.W.
Most Likely to Win Best Picture: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2"
Last week, the Screen Actors Guild and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association dealt blows to the final "Potter" film's chances of nabbing an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. No matter! Voters in our poll selected "Deathly Hallows, Part 2" to win Oscar's top prize. It wasn't even close. "The Artist," generally considered the Best Picture front-runner, placed a distant second behind the boy wizard and his wand-waving pals. "The Descendants," another Oscar fave, came in dead last. And while "Potter" won't prove as popular with Oscar voters as it will with MTV voters, the franchise denouement could still sneak in a Best Picture nomination; experts who track the situation closely suggest a Producers Guild of America nod could clear the way. — Eric Ditzian
Most Anticipated Movie of 2012: "The Hunger Games"
In one of the bigger upsets of these end-of-year polls, Katniss KO'd Bella (Batman, Spider-Man and Snow White, too). Not bad work for a character who hasn't even been seen on the big screen yet. The approaching year is easily the most exciting in recent memory; when "The Hobbit," "The Amazing Spider-Man" and a new Bond film don't even crack the top three you know 2012 is shaping up to be a cinematic year for the ages. What's more, the "Hunger Games" win has got to come as welcome news to Lionsgate as the studio prepares to launch a new YA-adapted franchise the same year as the "Twilight Saga" finishes up its box-office run. — E.D.
